How Selling Works

Who can sell here?

Anyone with a real digital product worth downloading: an AI agent template, a workflow bundle, a 3D print file, robot software, a dataset, an art or media pack, a classroom resource.

MarketplacePlanet is digital-only. If it ships in a box, it doesn't belong here. If it downloads, it might.

How to apply

1. Go to the Seller application page on marketplaceplanet.com and apply.
2. Your application is reviewed in two steps — a human process, not an auto-approve. We check who's behind the shop before anything goes public.
3. Once approved, you log in at marketplaceplanet.com/vendor.php — that's the Seller Panel, your home base for products, orders, and payouts.

Listing a product: 3 steps

1. Describe it. Name, category, price, an honest description, and a cover image.

2. Mark it Downloadable. That's the setting that makes it a digital product.

3. Upload the file. The actual deliverable your buyers will download.

Every product then passes quality review (premoderation) before it goes live. Nothing publishes without being checked — including products from sellers we already know. It keeps the shelves clean, and it protects good sellers from competing with junk.

The preview rule

Every product should include a free preview or sample.

Buyers check samples before they buy — and so do their AI agents. A listing without a sample is a listing most shoppers will skip. Put a real slice of the product out front: a few files, a low-res version, a demo — enough for a buyer to judge quality honestly.

Listings with samples sell. Listings without them mostly sit there. This is the single easiest thing you can do for your sales.

Fees, in plain words

• Founding Sellers pay 0% commission for their first year. Locked in. If your price is $40, the marketplace's cut is $0.
• Payment processing fees (about 3%) are deducted from payouts. That's the card processor's charge, not ours.
• You keep the rest.

No listing fees. No monthly fee on the Founding Seller plan.

Getting paid: connect your bank

Payouts run through Stripe Connect. Inside the Seller Panel, open the Stripe Connect step and complete Stripe's hosted onboarding: verify your identity, then add the bank account where your payouts should land.

MarketplacePlanet never sees or stores your bank details. Stripe holds them — that's their whole job.

Already have a Stripe account? Connect it. Don't have one? You create it during the same onboarding. It takes a few minutes.

Step zero: connect your bank before you go live. You can list products before banking is connected — but an order that includes a seller who hasn't connected Stripe can't be paid at all. Connect first, then list, so your first sale doesn't bounce.

How money flows on each sale: buyer pays by card → MarketplacePlanet holds the funds for a standard 7-day hold — that window covers buyer protection (broken files, not-as-described claims), as long as no dispute is open → the money then releases automatically to your connected Stripe account and on to your bank, minus the ~3% processing fee. Marketplace commission for Founding Sellers in year one: 0%.

First payouts for brand-new sellers may be held longer for fraud checks, and reserves are possible under the Seller Agreement.

Quality rules

Short list, no surprises:

• No pirated or cracked software
• No stolen license keys, accounts, or credentials
• No malware, spyware, or anything designed to harm
• Nothing that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark
• Sell only what you made or have the right to sell

Break these and the product comes down — repeat offenders lose their shop. The full list lives in the Prohibited Items policy and the Seller Agreement.

Talking to buyers

• All messages stay on the platform. Don't move buyers to outside email or chat — on-platform threads are what let us help when there's a dispute.
• Reply within 1 business day. Buyers who hear back fast buy again.

FAQ

How do I connect my bank? In the Seller Panel, open the Stripe Connect step and follow Stripe's onboarding: verify your identity and enter your bank details there. Stripe holds them securely — we never see them. Do this before you go live; an order can't be paid to a seller who hasn't connected.

When do I get paid? Your money is held safely for 7 days after each sale, then released automatically to your bank. The hold covers the buyer-protection window; if a dispute is open, the release waits until it resolves. Brand-new sellers may see longer holds on their very first payouts while fraud checks run.

What does it cost to sell here? 0% commission for your first year as a Founding Seller. The only deduction is the ~3% card processing fee from payouts.

How long until my product goes live? Every product passes quality review first. Once it's approved, it's live. Review happens in the order products arrive — good descriptions and a working sample make it fast.

Do I have to include a free sample? It's the house rule and strongly expected. Buyers and their agents check samples before buying; listings without one rarely sell.

Can I sell the same product elsewhere? Yes. Selling here doesn't lock you in — your products remain yours, licensed to buyers under your listing's terms.
